Foam sole. Webbed upper. These thong wedges are practically weightless. The heel is 4.50 inches high with a 1.25 inch platform. They're ultra-casual and comfy - perfect for cruising the endless array of art and music festivals that summer has to offer. They're listed at $29.99 on the Groove website but I found my pair at Ross for $9.99.
Groove Wedges: Found on sale at Ross for $9.99
The problem is that mine are nude in color and are showing a bit of dirt after only 1 wearing. This is why I've selected them for the Forge & Foundry's next DIY project. My intent is to make them so Fresh & Funky that you'll want to design a pair for your very own.
The high density foam sole will require little to no prep work to make it acceptable to most media. Be warned though, if your starting with black shoes you might want to base your design with white to prevent a lot of show through and avoid the need for laying down layer after layer of paint.
Here's the list of supplies and a link to the "My Twinkle Toes" website to inspire you. Happy decorating, chicas! I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

1Well, Sun_Sun, they're not my first choice of a shoe but, after I'm done making them a work of art it will be easy to forget that they are foam. Too: Our town plays host have a 10 day festival music and art festival, Musikfest, every year. It's coutless hours of walking over the course of the event and I've ruined so many pair of really good shoes over the years that these will be my one-of-a-kind faves for the event. They'll be comfortable and I won't care if some jerk spills a whole pitcher of beer on them, if they get dirty, or if I have an accident while trying to hover in the PRRs -- whatever else happens I just won't need to be concerned.
2Hmmmm. I'll hafta look at some over the weekend.
3tdsollog: Yes! Do. It's fun. Margs just posted a pair that she did and they turned out FAB!
